Helping the Homeless Find Their Place in Life

Promoting awareness of social and non-profit organizations that sustain life.

"He that gives to the poor lends to the Lord..."  proverbs 19:7

FACT:
In January 2015, 564,708 people were homeless on a given night in the United States.

FACT:
Almost 40% of the Homeless in the United States are Under 18.

WE WANT TO HELP!
As a partner with FOFMI, we here at Humanity Magazine are committed to developing creative ways to give the homeless a voice and foster understanding in the world concerning this dreadful epidemic that is plaguing many societies, especially our own.

WHAT WE PROPOSE

Understanding:
One primary complaint we hear from those who are homeless is a general lack of understanding of their situation by the public. Not everyone that is homeless is an alcoholic or drug addict. We believe that fostering understanding through education is an integral part of restoring the humanity and dignity of those that are homeless.

Resources:
People that are homeless have needs that span further than just food.  Often, while some go to shelters to get a good night's sleep and a hot meal,  they lack feminine and personal hygiene items, a cell phone to call help in case of an emergency or to get call backs for potential job interviews, nice clothing for the interview, etc.

Education:
Many of our homeless need only to sharpen their minds in the areas of expertise that will help them secure gainful employment.  An educated person can normally go much further than an uneducated one.
